Research Fellow, Department of Environmental Health, BUSPH

Talia Feldscher

Talia Feldscher is a Research Fellow with the Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS) and the Center for Climate and Health (CCH). In this role, she splits her time between these two important programs at BU, supporting their spatial data projects, including the Clean Energy Legacy Transition (CELT) with IGS and the Gateway Exposome Coordinating Center (GECC) with CCH. Her interests lie at the intersection of climate change, environmental justice, life course exposures, and urban environmental health, with a focus on using GIS mapping tools to identify and address inequities.

Talia earned her BA in Biology & Science in Society from Wesleyan University in 2021, where she first discovered her passion for the connection between human health and the environmental/social world we live in. She then earned her MPH in Environmental Health at Boston University in 2023, where she brought geospatial expertise to numerous research projects relating to urban heat, stormwater overflow, noise pollution, air quality, and more. She is thrilled to be returning to this work and continuing to support the integration of spatial tools into BU's environmental health portfolio.

Her professional experience includes both academic research as well as public sector administrative service, including the Environmental Protection Agency, where she oversaw environmental justice grants in New England. In this role, she oversaw multimillion dollar awards and built relationships with community partners in Boston and across the Northeast. She is looking forward to continuing this emphasis on community engagement in her work at BU as well.
