This searchable Urban Heat and Policy database was developed using the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Heat Vulnerability Framework and adapted to include interventions and mechanisms of action. Based on publicly available materials, targeted web-based searches, and insights from meetings with advocates and researchers based in the focal cities, we have categorized each policy according to the Heat Vulnerability Framework to support city leaders, heat and sustainability advocates and program leaders, researchers, and city residents in advancing policies to manage and reduce city heat, drive sustainability, and foster healthy communities.
We are in the process of expanding the cities included in this database. If you know of a relevant policy for a city we've covered that is not included, please send us an email.
